Chambers, swanky? Not even the slightest. I don’t think they even care about not being trendy or fancy, but what they do care about is their wine, particularly the fortified’s which are some of the best, with the “Rare” wines being world beaters when it comes to fortified wines. The list of wines is massive and if someone were to sample all their wines it would cause the average person to wake up the next morning half naked in a paddock wondering what the hell happened. Pace yourself, chat to one of the staff so they can give you some direction.
Chambers do things a little different. You are given a wine list/order form and all the wines are lined up along the bar in the correct tasting order and it’s just a matter of helping yourself. Choose the wines you want to taste and skip the ones that don’t appeal. But you are not left alone, if you ever need some assistance, help is not far away.
On one of our visits our host passed on some wonderful knowledge and showed us an ornate barrel carving that we missed on the way in and gave us the back story to it. (Make sure you ask about it)
At Chambers you can also buy a selection of bulk fortified wine and begin the journey of making your own aged blended wine at home in your own oak barrel.

Chambers are well known in the region for producing quality fortifieds but have a full range of red and white wine. Amazing options for bulk purchases. Chambers pride themselves on spending time/money on their wine production and not their cellar door. A very worthwhile visit with quality information on hand if you ask for it.

Although the premises are “back to basic” this is a must visit winery – having one of the best range of quality fortified wines.
