Dalzotto is the birthplace of Prosecco in Australia, having the first vines planted of this Italian grape variety that produces the wonderful Sparkling wine, also know by the same name, and it is where we begin our tasting.
Three excellent Prosecco’s are on offer with each being different from the other.
There have been many visits to Dalzotto, which has a lovely tasting room situated on the flats of the King Valley with views out over the vineyard and gumtrees marking the perimeter, and each visit it has never disappointed.
A wonderful trattoria sits to the side of the tasting room that is professionally run and serves fabulous Italian fare. Combine this with the superb wine and views, why would you want to be anywhere else? Each visit our hosts have been fantastic, particularly one chap who said that he spent most of the time in the vineyard. His knowledge was terrific and made for a wonderful experience as we worked our way through the list of wines. Outside there is a Bocce court with an outdoor ten pin bowling lane next to it.
Top tip: I am of the belief that a glass of Dalzotto wine in one hand counter balances the weight of the Bocce ball in the other. Try it and see how much your Bocce game improves.

We couldn’t fault our trip to Dalzotto. We timed it for a quiet period and had the full attention of a fantastic winemaker. Quite a range of wines. Also stayed for lunch – which was just amazing. Great value and good food
