Elderton has five different ranges of wine and one of the early highlights was an Eden Valley Marsanne/Roussanne. Our host was chirpy and full of knowledge as she expertly guided us through the wines of Elderton. Moving through the list an Estate Zinfandel was an unusual style that we don’t get to see often in Australia. An interesting wine that was really lovely. Another highlight was the Greenock (a subregion of the Barossa) Shiraz. For a $5 tasting fee you can also try Elderton’s four elite red wines including the Ashmead Cabernet and the famed Command Shiraz.
Produce platters are available and on good days can be enjoyed in the courtyard garden under market umbrellas.
An all round terrific experience.
