Four Pillars Gin distillery

In the 18th century Gin was the poor mans drink and the scourge of England, as it was cheap and easily accessible. It gained the nickname “Mothers Ruin” for the disastrous effects it had on families and individuals with people selling everything to get more of the spirit including wives and daughters.
Today there seems to be resurgence, with the punters exploring more boutique styles. So when I heard one of my favourite gins had opened up a distillery to the public then I was a moth to a flame.
Four Pillars distillery adds another bow to the township of Healesville with this funky fit out that is perfect for mingling with friends, a gin tasting or a private tutorial. One option is to get a tasting paddle of four gins for $12 with a small bottle of tonic water. Each gin is garnished differently to complement the ingredients that went into make the complex flavours of each style. The second option is to pay $10 at the bar and taste five different gins neat. This allows you to really taste the very different styles and pick up the flavour characteristics in each of the gins.
A great experience for gin lovers in a cool hangout that also includes an outdoor space for when the weather is reasonable.
