We almost did not visit this winery thinking from their webpage that wine tasting was secondary to their restaurant and only available mid week. WRONG! We were so, so glad we decided to drop in. This winery cellar door would, without a doubt have some of the best views of any in Australia, but more on that later.
Jack Rabbit consists of two parts. Part one is the restaurant that is open daily, serving quality food at the higher end and where the wine tasting occurs during the quieter mid week, Tues – Thurs. Part two is a separate building and what Jack Rabbit call the “House”. This “House” is open on the busier days, Fri – Mon, and serves cafe fare in a more casual approach. It is on these days that the wine tasting occurs here. The cellar door is perched on a hill with both buildings taking in the spectacular uninterrupted views of looking back into Port Phillip Bay and the You Yangs in the distance.
A good range of wine was on offer as well as the “Flying Brick” ciders that is made in conjunction with Leura Park. Tables were scattered out the front of the cafe but we found the sloping lawn was the perfect spot for us to plonk down and take in the views while enjoying a glass of wine and a cider.

The view wins hands down. The wine & food are just as good. I recommend anyone I know going near Geelong to visit this winery. It’s become my favourite. If you can only visit one, this is the one.

Best winery on the Bellarine – LOVED IT! The food and wine are excellent but that view is magnificent!! There’s no better way to spend a lazy afternoon, glass of Jack Rabbit Moscato, looking out to that view. 10/10!

Stunning views and the perfect gentle sloping grassy hill to keep the kids entertained by rolling down it! A great casual spot for the whole family to enjoy.
