Levantine Hill Estate

Now this is a spectacular cellar door! From its modern interpretation of how a restaurant and cellar door should be, to how the owners have imagined how they see the outdoor space being used by people, with two large wooden semi circle benches that entices people to move away to a more relaxed setting to enjoy a glass or two.
Once inside, the glamorous restaurant (headed by Teage Ezard) takes most of the space that happen to include a couple of groovy private booths, made to look like wine barrels. The tasting bar has several wine options with three, five or seven wines and priced accordingly.
I choose the five wine option and are asked two questions, “what do I like to drink?” “Everything!” I exclaim, not sure whether to be proud or embarrassed and secondly “what do I like to eat?” Before I finish getting the words out “I am a foodie” The wine list is whisked away and my wonderful hosts says “Leave it up to me”. Sometimes it’s nice not to think and for someone else to take the lead. The wines are poured blind and her reasoning is that if I know what I am drinking I may have a preconceived idea of what to expect, good or bad. After each wine she tells me what I was drinking. I had a cracking Rosé two divine Pinot’s and a stunning Syrah.
Here at Levantine Hill, I got an experience that was joyous, relaxed and informative and one that I would highly recommend for anyone that loves their food and wine.
