There is a big range of wines, from the more common garden varieties seen at your local bottle shop, to some absolute doozies and others that are only available at the cellar door such as the Mudflat and Futures Shiraz, as well as the Black Queen Sparkling Shiraz. If you ask nicely, one of the friendly staff might set you up with a flight of their seven Shiraz. This is a great way to compare the wines side by side. It’s always easier to pick differences when you have comparisons.
Peter Lehmann winery is surrounded by lovely lawns and picnic tables. They serve platters of local produce and always hold plenty of events, so keep an eye out for the “Day On The Green” concerts that feature local and international artists.
