Sam Miranda

With its wooden tower standing tall on the rooftop, this modern minimalist winery can’t be missed. The concrete floor flows to the outside where market umbrellas and tables make the most of the warm days. It’s a clever design, a bit cellar door, a bit modern cafe with a touch of modern city bar thrown into the mix.
On our last visit we had Sam Miranda himself take us through his wonderful range of wines. For a beginner this is a chance not to be fearful of saying something silly in front of the winemaker, but instead to relish the opportunity and to ask questions and be genuinely interested in what you are tasting and before you know it your wine world will expand to new levels.
We loved that there was such a wide variety of wine styles and with some tasty nibbles from the kitchen it makes a great place for a group of friends to spend some time.
Start with the fantastic Prosecco, then weave yourself through the list of over twenty wines, ensuring that you include the excellent Barbera and Dolcetto. The restaurant serves up a selection of antipasti/tapas, mains and sweets and gives punters the chance to either sit in the restaurant for lunch or take the more casual approach with some smaller plates and share these alfresco style.
With many bases covered you would be hard pressed to find a better place to spend an afternoon eating, drinking and tasting wine at Sam Miranda winery.
