Stone Bridge

Surrounded by gardens of native grasses and trees, this smallish tasting room is greatly enhanced by the outdoor space where the garden encompasses you into this wonderful outdoor room. There are plenty of options to grab a seat, whether it be the undercover paved area on bar stools and tables supported by wine barrels or the marquee, but perhaps the prettiest is the large oak tree surrounded by decking with cane chairs and tables. Perfect for forgetting about life’s troubles.
Our tasting kicks off with a choice of two Rieslings a great Pinot Grigio and a Moscato. Stone Bridge at the time of visiting had just won an award for the best Rosé of the region. We tried a very good Sangiovese and a Cabernet/Malbec and finished off with a vintage and non-vintage Tawny (Port).
The owners, a married couple, took us through their range of wines and it was funny listening to the banter they had between each other, like any married couple. We ordered some wood fired pizzas and sat outside in the sun soaking up its warmth. A lovely spot that was really enjoyable with its casual and a family fun vibe that runs throughout.
On a nice day if there was ever a place to turn off the phone and forget about tweeting everyone and just enjoy the now, then Stone Bridge’s outdoor eatery is it.
