We head to the bar where we were introduced to their Prosecco styled wine. Next the Colombard wine can be easily found in bottle shops and offers great value. A Shiraz/Sangiovese kicked off the reds with a bang and it is here where we decided, to pay the tasting fee to taste Primo’s premium range of wines. (Refundable against any purchase from the premium range) On the other side of the room a small table was set up for us and we joined several other parties that were doing the same. The Premium tasting is a more personal affair and four wines one white and three reds are poured and talked about by another cellar door person. Fresh warm bread, parmesan and some of the winery’s olive oil under the Joseph label are delivered on individual plates. It is now up to you to set the pace, weather you savour each wine, jump back and forth to compare the wines all the while nibbling on some quality produce. Here in the more intimate setting it’s a chance to chat to other travellers to see which wineries they have been to. We finished with a gorgeous sticky.
A great experience all round from Primo Estate from their premium range and produce plate to their entry level wines and great service. You can do what I did and buy a bottle of the Premium Pinot Grigio and with the tasting fee refund you get a cracking wine for next to nicks.
Put this one in your itinerary as a must do.
